Masks of the Great One
Temple of Masks
The Temple of Masks consists of four temples, each connected by secret doors. These temples are devoted to four of the masks of the Great One. Each temple is made of a different igneous rock and has three rooms: a chapel, a priestess's cell, and a holy of holies (statue room). These square rooms connect to each other in an impossible, non-Euclidean way, as if wrapped around a dimension invisible to mortal eyes. Each chapel has pews, a baptismal font, and braziers, each cell has a sumptuous bed, and each holy of holies has prayer rugs arrayed towards a 15 foot idol dedicated to one of the masks.
The granite temple is dedicated to Daagthago. The trapdoor entrance is in the moorlands north of Carroc Azuul. The reliefs around the upper portion of the rooms are opulently dressed faceless humans in poses of authority.
White Marble Temple
The white marble temple is dedicated to Dhaubath. The reliefs around the upper portion of the rooms are of humans, whose only facial feature is a mouth. These figures are consuming a grand feast of game animals. The trapdoor entrance is in the Veiled Garden in a rift in the mountains below Chamblas.
Black Marble Temple
The black marble temple is dedicated to Golathan. The reliefs around the upper portion of the rooms are of humans, whose only facial feature is a mouth. These figures are killing and eating other humans.
The basalt temple is dedicated to Phuathos. The reliefs around the upper portion of the rooms is of a volcanic apocalypse. Cities depicted are consumed by lava, and burning faceless figures are depicted in poses of anguish.
